As 2017 comes to an end, along comes a fresh start and New Year’s Resolutions for 2018, whether this is something personal or changes to the home, there’s no better time than the months of January and February to completely renovate the home.

The guys at www.chill.ie have put together this great eBook taking a look at the best winter interior design trends; everything from upscaling old furniture into new and improved pieces, architecture inspiration and how to keep the home safe during winter months.

Here at Make It Shabby, our favourite interior design trends for the new year is to keep things ‘Mother Nature’ bringing natural elements into the home and creating an organic space to the room. The majority of this will be from wooden furniture, such as tables, which can be renovated to create a clean looking finish. This will be complemented by wicker textures.

The big question is, how much do people spend on interior designs? The survey from Chill came up with some interesting stats. For example, did you know 42% of those surveyed would spend as much as 10% of their annual income on home interiors. 43% said they would focus on the living room, with 25% choosing the bedroom.

Which winter interior design trend will you be picking for the new year? Let us know in the comments below, and feel free to download the eBook from Chill for inspiration.
