Money broker turned toy designer Sachiyo Ishii follows up her wild and wonderful book Mini Knitted Safari with the enchanting follow-up, Mini Knitted Woodland.
Mini Knitted Woodland is packed with patterns to create a number of woodland creatures with everything from the birds and deer, to the gnomes and tree stumps included. None of the projects requires a large amount of yarn to create them making them perfect for turning odds and ends into a completely new world.
The book begins with an introduction to the materials and tools needed as well as a quick guide to washing raw fleece for anyone fortunate enough to come across it.
It then goes on to cover basic knitting techniques and includes a handy guide to the knitting abbreviations used in the patterns which follow. Also useful is the conversion table which translate between UK and US crochet terms, the basic techniques of which are needed for some of the patterns.
Each of the patterns is easy to follow with clear instructions explained and a recommendation of whether they are better suited to beginner or intermediate knitters. Full colour photographs for each creates a captivatingly winsome scene that you will be eager to recreate.
A beautiful book bursting with fun ideas to create a bewitching woodland that children will love to play with for hours, that even adults can appreciate too.
